Multimedia data management in radiology

The multimedia CHILI PACS is a universal archive, which, in addition to the DICOM images, also processes e.g. photos and data of modalities without DICOM capability. Moreover the PACS can display multimedia documents (e.g. reports, images, videos) in any formats JPEG, MPEG, PDF, Microsoft Office and can also receive, save and display biosignals (e.g. ECG). The system is based on international standards (including DICOM, HL7, IHE).

Features

  • Universal archive for all multimedia data
  • All DICOM and non-DICOM modalities
  • Static images (e.g. CT, MRI) and moving images (e.g. angio, Doppler-ultrasound)
  • Documents in various formats (e.g. PDF, MS-Office)
  • Biosignals (e.g. ECG)

Benefits

  • The right PACS for any individual need: from the smallest PACS for one modality to Enterprise PACS spread over several sites
  • The PACS can grow with increasing requirements

Suitable products

The starter system for one modality, one radiologist and two web-based workplaces for radiographers or medical assistants.

This system is typically installed on a high-performance PC. The archive as well as the reporting software run on that PC. The interface to a HIS or office computer system receives study requests using HL7 and makes them available in a DICOM Modality Worklist. The images generated by the modality are saved in the Modality PACS. The diagnostic reporting software and the image distribution access to those data. Data with incorrect attribution can be corrected using the Data Manager.

Features

  • Integration with existing office computer system or RIS
  • Transfer of study request into the Modality Worklist

Benefits

  • Cost-effective start when only one modality is used
  • Professional solution
  • Can be extended easily for additional modalities and workplaces

The professional workplace for radiologists for interpreting medical data. This software is commonly operated with a double monitor or a large monitor, where the contents of two monitors can be displayed simultaneously. Image retrieval can be controlled either from the RIS or from the workstation. Previous studies are automatically made available on the second monitor. Automatic hanging facilitates and accelerates working. The demo preparation is done "along the way" during interpretation by simple drag & drop into the desired demo folder. In the demo, the pictures will be visualized in the same way as at the time of transfer in the demo folder.

Features

  • Synchronization of visualization with HIS/RIS
  • Automatic image arrangement (hanging protocols)
  • Folders for image libraries (demos, rare cases, teaching)
  • True multimonitor concept – even on a "large" monitor

Benefits

  • Fast working due to mutual control of RIS and workstation
  • The demo is prepared "along the way" during interpretation
  • The same user interface for interpretation, demo and image distribution
  • Smooth requesting of consultations and providing answers to such requests
  • Integration of images into reports or Office documents by drag & drop

International standard interfaces optimize integration with other information systems such as e.g. HIS, RIS or office computer systems. The most important standards are DICOM, HL7 and the rules of the "Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise" IHE initiative.

Please find below our certificates on standard conformance of our interfaces

Features

  • Transmission of requests from RIS/HIS
  • Transmission of images from modalities
  • Transmission and storage of reports
  • Teleradiology

Benefits

  • Open for the combination of the best applications for the task to be completed (Best of Breed)
  • Fast and uncomplicated integration and cost saving due to standard interfaces
  • Workload reduction and higher process quality due to optimal workflow
  • Avoidance of redundancy

The CHILI Teleradiology Gateway Basic is used for receiving and automatically forwarding DICOM image data.  Arriving data undergo intermediate storage in a database. In the case of network interruptions, transfers that have failed are taken up again automatically. Therefore, receipt of all data by the addressee is guaranteed. Transfers can be monitored via a web-based administration interface.

By default, the product contains the protocols DICOM C-Store (SCP and SCU), as well as the transmission via http/s. The DICOM E-Mail protocol is an additional option.

Features

  • Protocols included: DICOM C-Store, http/s, DICOM E-Mail (optional)
  • DICOM receiver node: 3 C-Store SCP
  • Transmission nodes: unlimited number of C-Store SCU
  • Rules for automatic forwarding depending on various parameters (e.g. AET, port, day of week, time)

Benefits

  • Transmission on existing modality or in PACS
  • Sending data in the background without user interaction
  • Automatic forwarding to different partners
  • Largely maintenance-free

According to the German x-ray ordinance (RöV), image visualization devices must to be approved by a qualified person prior to initial operation and tested for consistency in the course of operation. The records have to be disclosed to the competent authority upon request.

Features

  • Acceptance and consistency testing according to QS-RL as well as DIN V 6868-57 and DIN 6868-157
  • Records of results as a PDF

Benefits

  • Training of employees for own consistency testing
  • Automatic consistency testing in the workstation software on each working day
  • Submission of test records to the competent authority

The CHILI solutions are based on modules for communication, storage and visualization of multimedial medical data. They are in compliance with international standards and were developed under a quality management system according to ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 and are FDA 510(k) approved. The modules can easily be integrated in applications from other manufacturers.

Features

  • Quality-tested according to international standards
  • Modular
  • Based on international standards (DICOM, HL7, IHE)
  • Platform-independent

Benefits

  • Save costs by using modules that have been proven in use for many years
  • Establish interoperability of own products
  • Reduce time-to-market of new products
