Solutions for hospital ward

Stationary and mobile visualization of radiological and multimedia data on the ward.

The NEXUS / CHILI solutions for the ward do not only enable visualization of existing images, but also the acquisition of new images directly on the ward.
The traditional application scenario of the NEXUS / CHILI solution on the ward is the retrieval and visualization of medical images from the HIS or the medical workplace. Even though the user works with different systems, he or she only has to log on to the leading system.
With the mobile CHILI viewer, the user can acquire pictures using the built-in camera via tablet or mobile devices (e.g. iPad, Android) on the way and attribute them to previously created requests or patients. As part of the wound documentation it is, of course, also possible to use indexing and to add further descriptions of the images acquired. Mobile acquisition is completely integrated in the clinical workflow.

Features

  • Integrated image retrieval from the HIS or the medical workplace
  • Mobile acquisition of images with camera of the tablet PC (e.g. iPad, Android)
  • Wound documentation with integrated indexing

Benefits

  • Reduction of workload due to optimal workflows and standardized interfaces
  • Easy to operate by untrained personnel
  • Mobile availability of image data
  • Information of patient is facilitated, leading to better compliance

Suitable products

CHILI Web is a software solution for image distribution and teleradiology based on the well-tried CHILI PACS architecture which is capable of being extended. The system is IHE-compliant and can smoothly be integrated into the clinical workflow. The CHILI web server receives images from the imaging modalities or from a PACS via DICOM and saves them in a relational database system. The web server may be used as an interface to the existing PACS and can make PACS images available to web users.

Features

  • No software installation on the Clients, since web-based
  • No dependence on specific browsers or versions
  • Can be called from other systems (HIS, RIS, office computer, electronic medical record, ...)
  • Users have the same setting at all workplaces
  • Can be combined with PACS systems from other manufacturers

Benefits

  • Saves resources, since no configuration needs to be made for user accounts and no deployment required
  • Increase of process quality: All images are available at all workplaces at any time
  • Cost saving, as the viewer can also be used for reading and reporting
  • Multiple uses, as encryption and compression enable its use for teleradiology

This viewer is part of the CHILI web server and runs on the internet browser.  In connection with a validated monitor, the software can also be used for interpretation.

Features

  • Visualization and interpretation (with validated monitor)
  • Can be integrated into other information systems
  • Image compression (precompressed or dynamically during data transmission)
  • Encrypted data transmission between server and client
  • Operating system-independent and browser-independent

Benefits

  • Alleviation of workload for IT, since no installation is required on clients
  • Internal and external availability of all images
  • Ideal for teleradiology according to German x-ray ordinance
  • Availability of images and reports for referring physicians

International standard interfaces optimize integration with other information systems such as e.g. HIS, RIS or office computer systems. The most important standards are DICOM, HL7 and the rules of the "Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise" IHE initiative.

Please find below our certificates on standard conformance of our interfaces

Features

  • Transmission of requests from RIS/HIS
  • Transmission of images from modalities
  • Transmission and storage of reports
  • Teleradiology

Benefits

  • Open for the combination of the best applications for the task to be completed (Best of Breed)
  • Fast and uncomplicated integration and cost saving due to standard interfaces
  • Workload reduction and higher process quality due to optimal workflow
  • Avoidance of redundancy
