Hirslanden AG: Rollout of NEXUS / RISNG at the Stephanshorn Clinic (St. Gallen)

With the successfully completed implementation of NEXUS / RISNG at the Stephanshorn site in St. Gallen, the Hirslanden AG private hospital group is continuing its path towards seamless networking throughout the clinic.

After the innovative information system from NEXUS was previously introduced at the Klinik im Park in Zurich in 2017 and the Klinik Hirslanden in April 2019, the third clinic site can now benefit from the extensive digitization of radiological processes.

A particular focus here was on the realization and implementation of a standard teleradiology workflow so that external partners, such as a large radiology institute in Zurich and another external teleradiology service provider, can also be connected to support radiological reporting. The entire radiological process could be mapped fully electronically on the basis of cross-institutional interfaces: With the NEXUS / CHILI teleradiology portal, all process steps are controlled and documented via the portal from now on. The entire teleradiology connection was planned, implemented and put into operation within only four weeks.

"We are particularly pleased about the steady progress of the project with NEXUS, which shows us the extent to which good communication on both sides contributes to rapid implementation" explains Stefan Renz, Head of Radiological and Multimedia Applications and Process and Project Manager at Hirslanden AG. "In particular, we are pleased with the efficient and uncomplicated cooperation and the possibilities of seamless integration of the NEXUS / CHILI products. Only in this way was it possible for us to integrate external institutes into our radiological process in the shortest possible time," he continues. The "Stephanshorn" project was completely finished after only 6 weeks of productive operation and transferred to routine operation.

Within the next few months, another 13 sites are to be connected, until eventually all Hirslanden AG sites will benefit from the use of a central digital application. The next extensive sites are already being implemented for 2020.
