Historical development
The NEXUS / CHILI GmbH, based in Dossenheim near Heidelberg, develops innovative software for multimedia image management in medicine. This independent company, managed by its founders, was created as a spin-off from the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). The three founders are scientists and medical computer scientists, whose solutions for PACS and teleradiology have been on the market since 1997.
Strategy
CHILI grows with each challenge. The young, creative and highly motivated team in the field of medical informatics is the basis for the success of CHILI GmbH. The company's strategy is oriented towards the development of innovative medical software and the cooperation with scientific institutions (e.g. German Cancer Research Center). This helps to ensure the transfer of the most recent research results into current software, which is oriented towards requirements of the market.
CHILI has been an expert for innovative software and multimedia image management in medicine for more than 20 years.
In May 2017, CHILI became part of the NEXUS Group to further strengthen the product portfolio in the areas of telemedicine and image archiving systems of the NEXUS Group. After close cooperation and joint sales, the merger of the areas of radiology, from NEXUS / DIS GmbH and CHILI GmbH followed on 09.12.2019.
The resulting NEXUS / CHILI GmbH offers its customers an even more diverse product portfolio from a single source. The new name stands for innovative RIS/PACS overall concepts. As an expert in the field of multimedia communication and diagnostics, knowledge is being further expanded in order to continue to offer customers innovative premium solutions in telemedicine.
The CHILI software was initially developed at the Steinbeis Transfer Centre for Medical Informatics, Heidelberg, and has been marketed since 1997. It was developed on the basis of experience from several EU projects and the MEDICUS project funded by the Telekom subsidiary DeTeBerkom.
CHILI GmbH became part of the NEXUS Group in May 2017 in order to further strengthen the product portfolio in the areas of telemedicine and image archiving systems of the NEXUS Group. After close cooperation and joint sales, the areas of radiology were merged from NEXUS / DIS GmbH and CHILI GmbH in December 2019. Since then, both companies have been operating under one roof as NEXUS / CHILI GmbH.
NEXUS / CHILI GmbH still works closely with the German Cancer Research Centre and other scientific institutions to incorporate the latest research results in current development. The requirements of the users who work with the systems every day shape the further development of the solutions to a not inconsiderable extent.

NEXUS / CHILI GmbH has introduced and applies a certified quality management system on the basis of the standard DIN EN ISO 13485:2016. of the DIN EN ISO 13485:2016 standard and applies it.
Our medical products are compliant with the applicable medical product laws and bear the CE mark on the basis of EU Regulation 2017/745 (MDR).

We are kununu Top Company 2024!
The Top Company seal is an award for companies with very good ratings on kununu. The Top Company seal is awarded directly and exclusively on the basis of the ratings given by employees on kununu.com. Here, the focus is on up-close experiences in the company. Overall, only about five percent of the companies on kununu were awarded the Top Company seal 2024.
CHILI GmbH concentrates its sponsoring activities on three fields: International help for underpriviledged children, support of institutions in the company's direct environment, which are of benefit to the employees' families, and the development of junior scientists.
Herz HD Stiftung
The CHILI GmbH has supported the Foundation Herz HD Stiftung since 2008. The funds will help finance daily lunches for preschoolers aged 3 to 6. Currently, there are over 10,000 children in 136 schools. Additionally, these children will receive a medical evaluation 3 times per year.
Zoo Heidelberg
The CHILI GmbH supports the Heidelberg Zoo. Especially the new elephant house for the only group of elephant bulls in Germany is an important matter.
BVM Award
Since 2008, the CHILI GmbH has sponsored the BVM Award, which is awarded for excellent diploma theses, bachelor, master or doctoral theses in the field of image processing.
Support Initiative of the Heilbronn University (registered association)
CHILI GmbH is a member of the Support Initiative of the Heilbronn University in order to support the university in this way, from which a great many of the company's employees have emerged.
DICOM-Meeting and KIS-RIS-PACS
The CHILI GmbH sponsors for many years the DICOM-Meeting and KIS-RIS-PACS of the University Mainz and the German Röntgen Society DRG in Mainz, Germany. Also in 2015 CHILI GmbH supports the 17. DICOM-Meeting and KIS-RIS-PACS, that took place from 18. to 20. June 2015 with a CHILI booth at the industrial exhibition.
BVMI - The German Association of Medical Computer Scientists
CHILI GmbH is sustaining member of the BVMI. Dr. Uwe Engelmann, one of the three co-founders and co-partners of CHILI GmbH, is a founding member and honorary member of the BVMI.
